De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis

Tendonitis occurring on the thumb side of the wrist can be a very painful.  This disabling medical condition makes pinching and twisting activities impossible to execute. Inflamed tendons passing under the tendons cause severe pain. The slightest motion of the wrist becomes impossible.

Rest, medication and occasional use of steroid injection can provide relief to the patient. If these treatments do not provide relief over time, the tendons can be surgically released.
