AC Separation
AC separation occurs because of a tear in the tissue connecting the top of the shoulder to the blade. Fall usually causes this injury on the shoulder.
Symptoms of AC Separation

The patient may feel pain at the top of the shoulder.

The shoulder may look abnormal.
Treatment

The use of a sling.

The patient may be asked to place ice packs on the affected shoulder.

The doctor may administer the patient with pain relief medication such as ibuprofen and acetaminophen.
